Granny's gone and done it again

I met hubs when I was 18, moved in to live in sin :eek:at 29ish, 32 when we finally got married, first kid at 34. No snap decisions for us!!! :lau

Went outside to see hubs off (he's gone to care for MIL for a few days), then wrote that monster post about my little blue car.
where we come from if you haint married off by 16 theys sumpin wrong wit ya.

Haha! My brother borrowed the little car for awhile (his car had blown up) and had to put a new battery in it. Hubs took that new battery and switched out the one in his car on Friday night! hahaha! Reasons for turning it in: the alternator is going out (again!), leaky head gasket, heat doesn't work, defroster fans don't work, plastic bits are deteriorating, slow unknown oil leak, paint about gone, door lock fussy, back window bracket won't stay closed, need the room for other cars, we haven't used it much in the last 3 years but still pay insurance, registration, and smog testing, AND they gave me way more money than it was worth. But I will miss it. Manual transmission, no power anything, no ac. I'm too old for no ac. Also, no airbags, so insurance for one of the boys to drive it is actually higher than for a newer car.
Oh, and the car had to be in legal drive-able condition for them to accept it. We did take the jack and the floor mats when I found out they were just trashing the whole thing, but the deal would be off if we took the battery or wheels.

Oh, but was it baby blue? I wanted a baby blue one.
We currently have a '69 Alfa Romeo Duetto Spider taking up my garage! sigh It has been rebuilt and hubs painted it years ago (like over 20 yrs ago!), but it only sees the sun every 4 yrs or so. Looks like this.

me and pearl lived in sin a couple years but don't tell no body. it would ruin my good reputation  but hey, would you buy a new car without test-driving it?

reminded me of a joke . In our neck of the woods when a couple was married the bride come to live at the grooms parents house. So this boy marries and next morning his daddy says, boy, wheres your new wife. Boy said , daddy, that gal was a virgin and I sent her home. Dad said , well son, I dont blame you. If she aint good enough for her family she aint good enough for ours either.
