It seems like that, poor dummy chicken. Named her Ginger for the ginger coloring (and other Wellie is Grace, so stuck with G's)

It bothers me more knowing that some of the neighbors have to listen to it. One guy's ears are probably bleeding!

Was it at least a pretty color?

I'm disappointed in the color. Just like a regular brown egg with a little red tinge. We had a 100* day and it was a pale brown with speckles. Grace's eggs are a darker, nicer color. I only got a few dozen from her this year. She's 5 now.

My only hope is that they might get darker after she gets some green grass this winter and spring. Maybe she will start out darker at least, until she runs out of paint.

I haven't started his yet. I considered making his identical but instead saved $10 skipping the lace and ribbon. I used "his" thread for "hers" and I'm going to use scraps from "hers" as bias tape and the ribbon for "his." Then I get to make lots of cheesy relationship analogies like "cut from the same cloth."

I hope so Wishing, I know you were looking forward to a really dark egg. Too many different kinds for me to keep up with. copper , ect.. and they dont all lay super dark.
