No clue . LOLHate having to cull chicks, that's why I waited until they were 5 weeks.
Cooking them down removes a lot of the water from them. You end up with a more refined flavor.I dont understand why ya'll are crushing them or cooking them down? I just skin them quarter them add the goodies and finish filling the jar w/ v8. Then water bath.

wonder if I can make any money culling for people ?ditto if they are healthy no problem as we/I can butcher or use as bait in the live trap for skunks and coons.
How old were the chicks? You can tell really early on Seramas. Did someone dump a bunch of cockerels on you or was it just bad luck?That is not even counting the 10/13 Serama roo's I ended up with from purchasing baby chicks. I'm just a roo magnet I guess![]()
