I think as the BR chicks grow, the black wash mostly goes away and their legs look yellow.

It’s just in the middle of the back yard. I guess hawk could be likely, but we were outside most of the day. There was a pretty loud commotion one time, but I assumed it was roos squabbling with each other or guineas.

Shame. He was a beautiful bird. Such a long tail. What was he? Could easily have been a hawk strike.
