Granny's gone and done it again

2017 Chevy Malibu LT.. It's approaching 60 thou miles.. I drive a lot, I go to Tampa and Orlando a lot.. - plus, I like driving at night in the rain..;) It's like a hobby or some kind of mania.. Sometimes I'm already in bed, it starts to rain, I get up, throw on a t shirt and shorts and go for a good drive..
You must have good vision... driving at night in the rain. Not my favorite thing anymore.

I love it, something about the sound of rain, the shiny streets, the calm and silence except the rain, it's really calming and relaxing.. I take the back roads and drive slow..
Until the lightening strikes! :barnie

haha... you make is sound very nice. Hopefully nice flat wide roads. We are on winding country roads and many morons out there thinking they can drive better than they actually can. Literally an accident every week on a 3 mile stretch of road into town. They just had to repair the bridge over the creek... hit so many times, the guard rail was hanging over the edge. Last time it rained, a woman died. I'm not joking.

One last story... While I was gone visiting granny, hubs spoke with our neighbor that shares our fence line in the back corner. We share fence with 7 different neighbors... the whole backyard and half the front, which is why we don't have a huge predator problem here... or so I THOUGHT! Anyhow, this neighbor said he answered a knock on his door to a woman with a clipboard saying she was working with an organization that is GPS tracking mountain lions. She wanted him to know that lion P-247 had been in his backyard at 3am that morning.

I know they're around here... they have chased off the coyote pack that used to keep me awake summer nights yipping on the hill... but I never thought one would be prowling around in someone's backyard.

I let Scooter out the other night and he promptly took off after something and was chasing it all over the back. I heard the raspy barks of grey fox. They are fairly timid so no worries about Scoot and the chickens all securely locked up. haha The next morning, hubs told me the mountain lion story. :hmm Now I will be worried to let Scooter out late.

Then thinking about it, I remember a strange incident that happened just before I left for granny's. I was letting Scooter out after dark, and when I opened the door to the side yard, I heard something move in the dry grass on the other side of the fence. My impression was of something large that moved away very quickly, and much more quietly than a deer. I questioned myself... maybe it wasn't really anything at all. Scooter didn't immediately run over to the fence and bark as I would expect if something was there, but my hair was standing on end, so... maybe.:idunnoThen Scooter trotted over by the fence, but not too close, and was sniffing the air. He kept turning back to me and back to the fence, moving slowly and being quiet... very uncharacteristic for this dog who loves to speed around everywhere. After about 20 seconds, he skipped his usual frenetic tour of the backyard and came to me to go back inside. Unusual.
The man that had the lion in his backyard also told hubs that our next door neighbor's cat went missing at the same time. Their front yard is on the other side of the fence with the suspicious activity. I wonder if I was really that close to a mountain lion.

Good morning everyone have a fantastic day:highfive:

my mower is still skipping grass /weeds in the middle and although it has more power I still got stuck today . I wish you could see the blades he put on here. Looks like regular blades with 3 fingers/teeth ? sticking up .
Mine look like that, I think the "fins" are supposed to keep the cut grass moving. And yes it still skips some stuff in the middle when I mow really high stuff. Just takes more passes and backing up over stuff you just mowed. I did a section of the alpaca's field a couple of days ago. I had let it grow up for the wild critters. Lots more "work" than if I had been mowing it all along. The boys don't actually like tall stuff and went in when I was done to see if they could find some low growing grass.

Shame when you cant open a stinking pop top can.
Try this:
Stick the tines of a dinner fork under the ring to lift it some. Turn the fork around and stick the handle through the ring so it reaches just past the edge of the can then lift up. That should break the seal. If after taking the fork out you can't get the ring/lid to pull back, stick the handle of the fork in the other direction so the end is just past the middle of the lid. Pry up, that should do it.

Can you tell I've had the same problem as you in the past?
