Granny's gone and done it again

OH GOD NO about the same amount of time. the cows need the nutrition for themselves and the new calf growing inside. Remember with most rancher's and "open cow" (not preggers) get sold at market.
But dont we milk them for a long time ?

yes and BUT that is the "dairy" type of cattle which have been selective bred for milk production both amount and length , Remember most dairy cows have their calves taken at birth or soon there after.
 
I have always pulled the calves off their mom's when brother is up here in OCT pheasant hunting and I have another "healthy" body to help move/load the calves into the trailer.
Will he go w/ you to pick up the new cows ?

haven't gotten an answer if he want's me to pick him up in Cheyenne and then ride down and back or not. I think he gets his work schedule on the 18 , which is tomorrow.

Ohh I see. Like meat birds . I thought a cow is a cow and milk would be equal. Thanks for the lesson.

they can be but beef breeds or cattle don't usually produce as much milk. Dual purpose do both but excel at neither depends on what you are looking/wanting

When my iron is low and I see a cow in the pasture my first thought is LUNCH but that would make you sick right ? It has to be aged ?
