Granny's gone and done it again

That sweet old face. She is getting a bit more frosting in her face.

Sigh. So, my nana’s not doing so well. They don’t know if she’ll last the ten days that the assisted end of life stuff takes anyway.

Is it weird my mom is already writing the obituary and planning the “celebration of life”? It just seems kinda morbid to me. She’s not dead yet. Yes it’s going to happen but...

My great aunt planned her own. She said she was going to hand out tracts at the door. “No, aunt Ethel, you’ll be with Jesus.” Oh, that’s right. So she assigned someone else to the door and said she’d help with the food instead.

DH’s great grandma insisted there was no service. No funeral, no memorial. When she passed DH convinced everyone to have a memorial anyway. “She’s gone, and it’s not for her. It’s for us.” They are a very stubborn line of folk.

It’s rained and poured! Yard is totally saturated. It was already sloppy mud, so nowhere else for the water to go.

Morning, It has rained here all night and still at it. I need some shavings. Poor muddy chickens. 10 eggs yesterday and I pitched every one of them. They are encrusted in mud and feces . Not wanting eggs that bad. Eggs at Krogers yesterday .89cents to $6.15 for pasture eggs.

:hugs Tbh I’ve told my mom how it’s going to be when I die. It’s been decided since I was about 10. That’s if I go before my parents. I really need to get it in writing.
Better to have everything ready because the rush and emotional aspects afterwards is rough.

calf’s face is cracking me up. “Mom you want me to go out in this!?”

Is it just me or does Hank look tons better mange wise since that first pic? He doesn’t look as red.

I sort of thought so too, but I haven’t done anything. Maybe the pine shavings are helping keep fleas down? The rescue coordinator was concerned the flea meds would burn him, so I haven’t done that either. I haven’t put anything in his skin because I was afraid it would make it harder for him to keep warm.
