Pro star, i thought the advice is don’t make your rooster your pet. You want them to be leery of people and protect the hens. When they turn rogue since they are not afraid of people they attack you. At least that is what I read before.

yep. The current asshat was sweet like the hens, I didn't baby him . Just talked, fed and watered. Then one day BAM he flogged me. They see you getting used to them being close and use it against you
