Not as bad as the tree I planted over my stepF has died. How do you replace that ? If I dig in the same hole I will be digging him up.

Maybe he didn't like that tree. Cut the tree off and plant something near.
Or put some spring bulbs in maybe. Don't have to go deep.

If you go back over there instead of cuttings you can injure a stem and bend it down to make contact w/ the soil and it will take root there. Then you would need to go back the following yr to clip it from the parent plant

Whatever is killing my fish is killing my plants too. It has to be the wood I put in. I cant figure anything else except the light and thats just dumb. I glued some plants to the wood and if I take it out I am going to lose them.

I doubt that anyone has been watering the roses. They are probably gone. Doing what you said still doesn't help the fact that the plant you end up with won't be on hardy root stock.

Sprinkle some wildflower seeds out there?

The tree was very small pine. Deer got it all thats left is a side ways stem w/ like 2 green needles there.

Hubs made it rain!!! He just walked up back to continue cutting up some brush.
