Granny's gone and done it again

This loverly gal is in the process of making new corms (AGAIN!) When they are ready, if anyone wants some, let me know. She's a giant spider lily. She's graced the old place with a ton of plants, and I've completely surrounded the house here with them, so any new babies she makes are really excess! View attachment 2291529
What zones do they live in? I am 7a I think.

Welcome Bobbi!

I didn't think so. I wonder if I can trade him off for a smaller cockerel on my FB group? Something a bit more friendly, orrrrrrrr, even leave the ladies without a BF until one of the new chicks I have turn out to be a smaller rooski.
As long as he isn’t attacking you, but his kids will likely have the same behavoir.

This is the first year I am really noticing the shortening of the days. I don't mind it, but I usually don't realize how short until about Sept.
September 21st (me thinks) is the day the sun passes back south over the equator. Or the earth tilts far enough it would appear that way.

How old is Bruiser? An adolescent cockerel can be very different as a mature rooster.
17 weeks old. He's still learning. One of my main concerns right now is his size vs the size of the hens. And not all of the hens have submitted to him maybe because they are still in molt. They are probably thinking "what a young jerk!"

What a fantastic idea!
Believe it or not, I give my Creator credit for that one. Some times I ask or am searching for a solution to a problem and ask for help... then go about my business and up pops the answer.

Axeshually, I saw a video of someone who raised them in Carolina, not sure if it was N or S, but they got snowed in one year, then popped back up the next year. Momma (the one who gives me so many corms, is in a pot. everyone else is outside and survived our winter, mild as it were.

I got one whole side of the goat pasture fence lined with chicken wire! I had a four foot roll and cut it in half so it would go farther. Next I am going to do the short side. Going to need a lot more chicken wire.

I've been thinking about lining the outside of Henri's coup with deer netting to try and keep snakes out of it. Don't want one devouring eggs or lil' ones.
