I'd have to look in my dehydrator book on spinach, but I'm sure there's plenty of info out there on the web.

Good morning all! Finally collected all the eggs out of SP's barrel.. I was out there in the rain at 1 am because I was worried Henri and SP wouldn't let Mollie in the barrel out of the rain, but the 3 of them were all snuggled up in the back of the barrel.. Drank some warm milk and headed back to bed. It worked! Within minutes I was asleep.
While feeding everyone this morning, I collected the first 10 eggs that had been buried in the shavings/hay mixture, but what I found were not one, but TWO fresh eggs on top of the bedding.. I thought Mollie was still moulting since she's looking rather bedraggled, but may be permanent feather damage from being overbred/picked on by other boids.
All of the 10 eggs stayed in the bottom of the sink when water was added, no floaters. Were they still good? Candled them and all the yolks free floated to the top, so Henri must not be doing his "J O B".

Interesting. I had never heard this about yolks free floating. I thought that had to do with the chalazae. Didn't know it had anything to do with fertility. Watching to see what others have to say.

Me too! But those yolks just floated right up to the top of the egg..

I think you have to crack them and look for the bullseye to see if they are fertile .

Well if I cracked them open, I would have to cook them! I didn't feel like cooking eggs today.
