Granny's gone and done it again

I took two hens to my Amish lady today. Even that was hard. One was old and blind. The other was a spring BA that went lame for some reason. I put her in the infirary with the blind one hoping she would strengthen, but it was not to be. I think it was an injury that just did not get better.
aww, sorry Blue.

Great to see you.
Thanks, i was gone to town all day running errands w GirlChild. Got way behind, lol! But I hate to miss all the gossip! Glad this year is almost over! Glad for the holidays. Gonna cook our eyeballs out even though it's just the 4 of us. Just so glad to be alive and well at this point.

The hardest part is culling babies. I have done that a lot it seems. extra roosters mostly but some lame or FTT chicks. I cup them in my hand til they go to sleep then slip my limb trimmers under my hand. It goes fast that way.
FTT? Oh, failure to thrive.

I sorta made scratch dressing but not really. I cut up celery and onions and Robert crumbled sausage for me. I boiled the veggies in 4 1/2 c. water then added it to 3 box mixes. LOL Its good I used real butter too .
Ooh yum, I'm doing that I think. Only might use chicken broth.
