One of us drinks soda in plastic bittles (not saying which one, but not me, lol). We fill the bottles one-third full with water and stick in the freezer. When frozen we take out, top off with fresh filtered well water and drink that. Beats soda all to pieces, IMO! Coffee, too!

Filters are so expensive too . Mine cost $50.00 and I drink tap water . suits me the same as filtered.

Yeah, they need to be switched/maintained often too. However, I don't like the taste of tap water.

Oh, not that kind of filter! Just a filter in the well hiuse to get some of the minerals out. Wel .,. Maybe it does cost close to $50. But I don't think we change it out but about once a month, or less. We don't always remember to until I fill up the coffee pot and it looks rusty, lol. (I always keep a pot of hot water on for cooking and my instant uncaffeinated hot drink.)

You could do the same thing with tap water. Just tastes better cold.
