Granny's gone and done it again

convo between Tom and myself just before he went to bed.
T. did you get it done? G. what done? The thing your mom brought you. Whos mom? Your mom. She brought you something to fix. G. My mom has been dead for years tom. No she just brought you something. End of convo. Then there is fleeting confusion on his face and I asked him if he was tired and that it was bedtime.
:hugs

We have to stop working outside at 10am. Another heat advisory. Next week they get worse. By 10am the feels like is 105°.
Was supposed to get up to 102 but is now saying 99. Guess we'll take it.

DH gave me a great tip about this. NEVER click on any link from anything like that you get. Always log in from a saved address you have on your own tool bar. If you click they can either get a virus downloaded on you or finish the spam and get money out of you. Glad you figured it out.
Walmart has a spam or two. I got the voice mail one the other day. It said that they got my order for a game thing..forget the name..for 999 dollars and something cents. If I wanted to stop the order press 1. I first went to Google to see if that was one of their scams then to my bank account to make sure. Yes for Walmart..no money missing for me. Deleted.

I should have known it. I clicked on it in' the heat of the moment' because I was getting a little anxious as I organized all my bills and it made me mad that they say I didn't pay it. I had used my discover card as an automatic payment.
The insurance I just got is progressive and they sent an email that they still need some signatures. I couldn't figure that out. The insurance I discontinued is State Farm and my account was messed up since April. So I screen shot all their mistakes before my account is deleted. I have this feeling once their tech group gets things updated they will throw a big bill at me. I have a prepaid debit card on file so they can't do an automatic payment from my credit card!
That's what I did, switched from State Farm to Progressive. Saved me some money and had something for our home I really wanted. If there's a leak in you pipes that in your yard, if course the city won't pay for it. Now Progressive will.
We know we have two different places bent in the pipe running to the street. Crossing fingers it just stays put.

You will be so relieved not to have to care for goats and chickens anymore... But by then weather will start getting cool
A fellow HAM who used to raise chickens told us once, "Eggs are a lot cheaper since I sold all of our chickens." I told my husband that may be true but store bought eggs are blech compared to home laid ones. Around here I can buy Amish eggs for 1.75 a dozen which would be cheaper in the long run but where is the fun in that?

I have to admit that I have too much fun with my little bantams yet. Although I could live without having to constantly break broody hens. I have a bantam cross rooster named Elvis. He's slightly bigger than bantam sized and got his name from the way his comb flops over one eye. He lost one eye in his youth biting off more than he could chew with a larger rooster and since then has lived a pretty quiet life until this year when after 5 years he decided to go out and challenge one or all of the bantam mob for possession of a hen or two.

Yep, he lost vision in his remaining eye and now he is blind. I had to build him a new small pen to use until I can free up the broody buster pen for him to go back into. He gets around in there fine, knows where water and food bowls are but needs a small place. I worry about him in the winter keeping warm. Said I should by rights put him down but he's such a sweet rooster and coping so well with being blind that I just don't have the heart.

Have to admit I wouldn't miss having to make those sorts of decisions one bit.
