Blue, diets suck. I was up to 147 maybe even a bit higher and my lipid profile showed it. I'm barely 5'2" tall so I looked like a little barrel with legs. Tried various meds for cholesterol and they all made me sick. Doctor told me I had two choices, diet, lose weight, change my eating habits or keep trying different meds.
I chose the diet. hit 124 last fall, labs went into range. Got on the scale this morning and it said 118. Less than what the doctor wanted me to weigh. He wanted me to stop at 125 but I wanted some 'wiggle room'. I still have to watch my sugar intake due to my triglycerides which just kills me and makes my sweet tooth cry but I feel better weighing less. I was averaging 117 when I was in my mid 20s. It's hard I know. People ask me how I did it, it was simple. Portion size. I measured everything. Cut out potatoes, bread, all bad carbs. Lots of fruit and veggies. Sugar free pudding for my sweet tooth. Now I am surprised as too how little I have to eat to feel full.
Happy Monday folks. It's 91 outside right now. Last hot day before cooler weather with highs in the mid 80s and 70s moving in tomorrow.
Weekend was a total loss for me. My torn rotator cuff hurt on Saturday and I said to heck with it and did absolutely nothing for two days other taking care of the humans, animals and meals. Shoulder is better so today I'm up and running again.
Don't know whether to be glad or sad. I had noticed my mouse problem in the coop had virtually disappeared after being deluged with the little buggers for over a year. I thought putting bait out at night in the run while the chickens are bedded down was finally doing the trick but no! Went to open the pop door this morning and looked down in time to see a deep blue snake tail disappear into a mouse tunnel under the concrete floor. I think it's a blue racer. So far it seems to be happily munching on rodents it's finding in the tunnels and probably in the walls. I haven't seen any sign of it in the coop and be danged if I know any sane way to coax it out of where it has taken up habitat. I said I never thought I would see the day where I was happy to see a snake hanging around but it sure is solving a bad problem I had. As long as it leaves the birds alone. I had seen an adult Racer in the yard. It's about 4 feet long and very healthy. Probably will need to go on a diet if it hangs around too long.
