Granny's gone and done it again

Hi Granny. I am doing better than you ,but not great. Getting older is no picnic. My depression is giving me issues. Need to spend some time outside if it will warm up and the wind will let up.
Thanks for asking.
:hugs ugh, depression is a whole lot of no fun! Sorry, Cap. You are loved, Girl.

My Dad feared the nursing home. But he died a week after open heart surgery, so he never had to. It still hurts me that I couldn't say goodbye to him because we were packing to move to FL to help my parents.
I didn't get to say goodbye to my Dad either. But I know he knew I loved him with all my heart.

Sending heartfelt wishes for her recovery.
Thank you to all who prayed for my DD last night (or sent well wishes). She was neg for Covid and x-rays also neg for pneumonia. AND she made it safely home WALKING from the hospital in the middle of the night, arriving home at about 2:30 a.m. Her DH will not use his credit card or ATM or whatever for a taxi bc he is afraid someone will steal the number and compromise his credit somehow. He is very paranoid about, well ... everything. 🙄 Anyway, thank you all, I appreciate it.

I've worked in a nursing home and Assisted Living. We treated not only our patients well, but their family.
I've heard of places like this. I just couldn't believe it.
Everyone I have met and talked to there Has been very kind to me. I didn't have anything against this woman either when she told me about the meds. I thought maybe she was having a bad day. After I was home and talked to SD and she recounted everything I had done there did I get upset. She told SD Did you know his son was there too? SD said, so, he has that right.

Hi all, Im in a pickle here. Could use some sage advise please. Long story, sorry. Went to see Tom and the first thing he says is he is in pain. His neck and bedsore. I asked the lady taking care of him if he had his PP. Next I know a different woman is there saying You want to talk to me? I asked, who are you? Nurse I said oh, Tom said he is in pain. She starts going off on me! He wasn't in pain earlier, I gave him Tylenol, He pooped 3 times is why he is hurting.ect.... I let her finish her rant and I didn't reply. Tom wanted us to leave with instructions of he wanted a new watch. So that's what we were doing when nurse came back with a pillow to finally turn Tom. I get home and Toms DD wants me to call her. I guess she called to check on her dad. They first said she wasn't on the list then said they got permission from Tom Well, according to her all they did was bad mouth me! She had too many details to be making this up. Told her I didn't stay there very long, I "got pissed" because they wouldn't give Tom his pain meds and stormed out. There was a lot more they said mostly about me instead of telling her about her dad but Im not remembering it all right now. SD is upset over it too
Granny, I don't know anything about how to advise on Tom's health but no one ever has the right to talk to you like a dog. I just never did take that. They always start back peddling when they see you'll stand your ground. Whatever legitimate point she had to make she could have done so without being rude.

I didn't have the best goodbye either. He loved Robert so. He would come get him to spend the weekend with. One day I was taking Tom to Drs. and dropped Robert off. I don't remember Roberts age but maybe around 8 yrs. There was a lot of snow on the ground and he went out there to dig his car out so he could take Robert to taco bell but he fell. When I got there I could see he had broken his wrist so I took him to ER. They gave him some funky meds causing him to see spiders on the ceiling! Any way I brought him home with me then went to his house every day to give meds and cook. The day he got his cast off he came to the house asking for Robert. My sister had told me his driving was bad so I told him we had plans already for Robert. He left and I guess went to a bar. He was found lying on the walk up to his door. I guess between the beer and his arm being weak he didn't hang onto the railing going up his steps and fell backwards The woman that found him said he was alive at that point but he arrived at ER DOA

Thank you Pert. I guess I will contact the powers that be there and make a complaint. I don't know the woman's name and SD forgot it as well but they can look it up.

Oh Granny, how sad! That breaks my heart. :hugs

They both do. She's not been mentally healthy since her teens and he's had a series of strokes. It's just not a good situation.
Did she give the kids up or did you have to take them and how long have you had them? I had to do foster care when I got my grandkids.
