yes, he is. I'm resting now. Thanks.
When will you report them? I always wondered what would happen if more died after you report them. Are you giving them sav-a-chick or something like that?

Oh. Did I respond to this or no? Multi quote thwarts me again! Yes they have save a chick. Absolutely no way was I not having pitchers of that on hand after shipping!!!
We started buying chicks from Murray McMurray in the late 50's. Even though they are no longer a family owned business they have always treated us very fairly with very few losses.
I’ve heard good things. And like I said the ducks shipping was phenomenal. Notification Tuesday, they were in Portland the next morning and I picked them up Thursday morning. If I had shipping like that again, I’m sure more would have made it. Unfortunately, it was notification late Wednesday, and they didnt get into town until this morning :( and it was a cool rainy morning too. I suspect the ducks caught a flight and the chicks were trucked. It’s unfortunate.

Lupita (neighbors baby goat) was full of shenanigans tonight. Broke out of the pen for late night zoomies….had to pretty much rassle her into her crate for bedtime. Don’t let this sweet face fool you.

Also gave Kira and Kodi bushings.

Anyway. Jets lost, so Texas vs Edmonton for the western conference finals. This playoff season is killing me. I’m cheering for the oilers and the leafs. Feels so so wrong.

That’s what I do when I do burgers. Brioche roll…hubs like his smash burgers with kraft singles and topped with a sauce made from mayo, mustard, ketchup and Worcestershire sauce. I like frying up some onions, use garlic butter on the buns, if I’m gonna do cheese do real stuff, and top with garlic aioli if I have some, relish, ketchup and maybe some bbq sauce. Yum.

Project for tomorrow might be cleaning off the blackstone. Poor thing has just been rained on all winter and it’s disgusting. Also got a cover for it, go me.

Sounds delicious! You had me at caramelized onions! Love these things! I would put mushrooms on mine, no cheese.
Yeah caramelized onions are so good!!!!!! I’m not a mushroom fan though LOL but if you are, that’s awesome and feel free to use as many as you want! 😁 I’ll take your cheese for you LOL

I have taken care of many home care patients with wound machines. The most popular brand was called a Wound Vac. It involves packing the wound with a special product and sealing it down with tape creating a vacuum. The biggest problem is leaking around the edges of the tape. If that becomes an issue, have the nurse leave you a sheet of the tape and show you how to apply it. Never be afraid to call when you have a problem with the machine. The nurses will appreciate you knowing a little about caring for it if it keeps them from having to make a trip out in the middle of the night. Been there, done that!
The wound is very deep. The abscess was full of mucous, they removed that, this time they also scraped out the skin that had contained the abscess and they cut out the part they believed to be the intestine remnant causing this(not snowing on the scans). So they called it a hypothesis since they couldn't see it. There surgical site is on the buttock and doesn't have stitches.

The wound vac is supposed to help heal the inside before the outside heals shut as this would cause an infection. If the machine isn't working for 2 hours, then infections develop. The foam is packed inside the wound. They have sheets of clear tape that covers the buttock. Then there is more foam and the tube and then everything is covered in tape to make a perfect seal as Iris said. The tube goes in a little machine that he carries in a small shoulder bag. When the machine is turned on, the vacuum sucks the foam flat so you can see it's working.

I was told not to do anything with it. Either get home nursing or go to ER.
They use the wound vac for hard to heal wounds such as a foot wound on a diabetic. It sucks out all the fluid and debris the body makes during the healing process

The machine went off during the night again. I had tried hard to get the Drs and nurses to explain discharge things to me rather then to DH because he doesn't comprehend well. I had some experience with the machine and I had the # to home health so I want worried. But there's always the little things that are good to be reminded about such as.... The machine will need to be charged. We brought a whole cast of supplies and medicine home and the thought didn't occur to me that somewhere hidden in there is a little cord. I found it but had to get out of bed to find it. Giving pain meds during the night will be part of the schedule. Will get used to it
