ya, Its going to take a long while to get healthy. But understanding from Leylas post I might give him a hen to start socialization.  He has been in a cage alone since birth. So not only physical problems. LOL

Tell you one thing, you dont want one of those quills to poke you !

The poor lad!

Those quills look like they would make good poison darts!

They can eat raw eggs.  it's just messy and attracts ants.

:sick

Good morning all! And Happy Mother's Day!

The other thing to consider is that ivermectin is commonly used to treat parasites in people. No testing has ever been done for poultry, but you never know if it might not somehow get concentrated in the fatty yolk of the egg or something like that. Still, if you compare doses for chicken vs human... a week is probably adequate. I won't sell or give eggs away for at least a month after medicating any birds, because you never know if someone will be allergic. You do have to repeat the treatment to catch the newly hatched mites. Forgot the timing already. Got to go look.

TwoCrows said these mites bear live young every 17 days, so that's your repeat window.

Excuse me.

Put lots of cheese on your tortillas

Add meat if you want it.

Add your jalapenos. No enchilada wants to be mild.

Add sauce to the pan to prevent sticking.

Roll up, and add your enchiladas

Cover in sauce

More cheese is a must!

Bake @350 for 30 minutes. Unless you are impatient. Then twenty minutes works too.

It is easier to get them out of the pan if you cut them in half.

Okay, good bye.

Quote: That's a good question. I have seen mine peck at them, but never really go after ants. I'm sure they would eat the larvae, but you'd have to dig up the colony to give them access.

Quote: And you can boil a bunch at once and keep them in the fridge. It's just "fixing" eggs. I don't count it as cooking if I can do it without a recipe or having to buy special ingredients. Fixing I will do! Fix a sandwich, fix some eggs, fix some hot chocolate...

Hubs came out and told me he was making me eggs Benedict for M-day.

Oh, well. It's the thought that counts.
