Well, if they are on your porch, maybe they are spider mites instead of roost mites. Those won't hurt the chickens, but not so great for garden plants.

You really only need to spray enough to keep the mites from crawling onto the roosts from wherever they are hiding. Just around the ends of the roosts should work. If a chicken leans up against a wall, you will have to spray a bigger patch there, since they will use the chicken as a bridge. If they can't get to the chickens, they will be safe.

its bird mites. My tolbunt was coated in them the other day.

Stinky feet cheese! My mom bought some of that once when I was a kid. One of the few things in our house the didn't get finished.

Oh no. Soap and water sprayed in the coop certainly won't hurt. Since their coop is so wet, no place to dust bathe. You might lose some over this. Do you have Frontline drops for dogs? You can use that on the chickens. Works good.
I dont even have any for the dogs yet.
