Hi Red! Sorry, I was on my way out the door and this was the last post I squeezed in. Didn't mean to abandon you, but we didn't want to be late. Turns out family we were meeting were half an hour late anyway.

So glad you had a good time with Lisa and her dh. We really have to win that lottery someday and get everyone together for a huge chicken party.



That's a lot of twins! You must have got good at raising them, but infant twins with twin 2yr olds??? You get the Amazing Mom Medal just for surviving!! I remember when I got pregnant with my first, hubs said Wouldn't it be great if we had twins? I understood then just how little he actually knew about taking care of a baby... nada...zip...zero.



Guess my estimation of 10,000 pages was off just a wee little bit.

Don't know about the quality of the birds from MPC, but know that for certain breeds, if you get them from a breeder, the hens can be very broody and you lose out on egg production. That's how my breeder Ameraucanas are and the Orpingtons I got too. It depends on what your goal is. If you want to breed your own, broody is not a bad thing. If you want eggs, hatchery birds are generally better layers.

I just want eggs....not even to sell...just to give to my family.
