Quote: Hi Red! Sorry, I was on my way out the door and this was the last post I squeezed in. Didn't mean to abandon you, but we didn't want to be late. Turns out family we were meeting were half an hour late anyway.

So glad you had a good time with Lisa and her dh. We really have to win that lottery someday and get everyone together for a huge chicken party.

Quote: That's a lot of twins! You must have got good at raising them, but infant twins with twin 2yr olds??? You get the Amazing Mom Medal just for surviving!! I remember when I got pregnant with my first, hubs said Wouldn't it be great if we had twins? I understood then just how little he actually knew about taking care of a baby... nada...zip...zero.

Thanks H2oratt. Still have long way to go to finish reading. About 2000 pages. Lol
Guess my estimation of 10,000 pages was off just a wee little bit.

I am starting from scratch.
I was able to rehome all of my mixed bunch of baby chicks.

Can I trust mypetchicken? Will they send me real Ameraucanas or send me EE?

I want:
Black Copper Marans
Blue Copper Marans
Any color of Ameraucanas
and
Olive Eggers.

If you know anyone that breeds these type please let me know.
Don't know about the quality of the birds from MPC, but know that for certain breeds, if you get them from a breeder, the hens can be very broody and you lose out on egg production. That's how my breeder Ameraucanas are and the Orpingtons I got too. It depends on what your goal is. If you want to breed your own, broody is not a bad thing. If you want eggs, hatchery birds are generally better layers.

I recently said something to someone about having twins. The poor soul thought it would be awesome. They had no idea why twins would be more difficult than just one. :th

I wonder what BYC will do for a follow up to just push members over the edge.   All I ask is to get them in the pasture with Porter for 5  minutes.

I have been wondering today how many people will stop using BYC because of all the bugs lately.

Just pulled a bread pudding out of the oven and have vanilla ice cream to go with it any takers before I take it to Rod out on the farm. Still doing laundry, but the 2 flower beds in the courtyard are done , 5 roses, 3 liliacs -supposedly rebloomers, 3 Asian lilies, and 24 jelli-bellies. Dark purple. And another lilliac in the back yard. then 4 inches of peat moss over the works to stop/slow down weeds and hold in moisture.

Thanks red, don't get to see grand kids as often as I'd like any more. Daughter used to live across the street from me, then next door. After 1st husband died of heart attack 3 days after his 35 birthday, when she got remarried they moved to Washington and I moved to Utah. Miss them lots.
