Glad we dont have feed stores like yours here...id be on house arrest..
X2!!!!!

Finally someone in my position... House Arrest! This will be the next action around here if I bring any more fuzzy babies! It is terrible. Horrible. Inhumane!!!!!

Granny, I guess you will need to make a hair appointment for Spazz at the beauty parlor to get a trim....fixing up his bald spots from his top hat burn!

Meet the New Chicks!!!!

"Plastic and Wind Up"....Guaranteed never to leave dander in the brooder or on surfaces of your home, will never wake you at midnight with their cries for mommy or get Coccidiosis! The worry free chicks!!

Plastic seems healthy enough, but Wind Up is missing an eye. So he may require a bit more supportive care.

oh, two crows, hahahahahah cant your hubby see how bad you are needing some babies?? tell him you are thinking about fostering some children . maybe he will change his mind about the chickens.

He knows me better.

I am hoping, like so many other members here on BYC that some strange rooster, hen or some sort of fowl appears on our door step. Many years ago there was a pea hen wandering around with the wild turkeys! So someone around here keeps poultry. Now the hubby is not that cold hearted to turn away a stray chicken!!!

the two little chicks i had in the bator are in their new brooder. i didnt go to town today. i was carrying to much weight and injured my knee. it feels hot and wet in there. hurts. anyway, i am very curious about these babies. they are all black, very tiny, and i keep catching them playing in the water dish. one has vet wrap on its legs but they both just get in the water and stomp or jump around in a circle like there playing duck, duck, goose. i take them out, put them under the heat, they dry off and then jump right back in. i dont know who they belong to. they dont look like any of my other chickens. rooster or hens. they are not fluffy, very short fuzz, beak and legs black, white skin. i think its supposed to be 14 tonight. they are less then half the size of the ee i bought about 2 days different in age. are there any breeds that tend to like the water?
