Well. Got some bad news from my sister.

Her miniature schnauzer (he's 8) is at the vet overnight for observation and meds. Heart failure. Vets are giving him 3-6 months.

The family's 8 year curse seems to still be going strong.

We have not had a dog make it oast 8 years. First dog was a dachshund who had to be put down at 8 (back problems). Next dog was a cocker spaniel who went blind, started having back problems and developed a heart murmur. We got a posting notice (had to move) and so he got put down since the move would have been hard on him and being fully blind at that time would have no chance learning the new place. Dog after that was a mutt...she got blood cancer when she was 8. Now her dog with this....my mutt is 8 as well. I'm keeping a rather wary eye on her.

your pup is good for another 8 years. or 16 any multiple of 8 other then 8 itself
