i like them. great mouser lol. there is a church sale about 2 miles from my house tomorrow. they have t-shirts i wanted and asked them if it was possible for someone to bring them. i got a flat no. i do believe that church wont get much business . i diidnt mean for that to happen but it did. oh well, the truth shall set you free.

Is that the church you attend?
Surely there was someone going your way that could have brought them. What stinkers!

So maybe if I do several posts for the same story will work better?

When we planted the garden the hen started teaching the chicks the joy of esting tomatoes........ There was a bath house on the farm from when there used to be a summer pony camp before Daddy bought the place. So he hooked his old tractor to the building and dragged it up the hill behind our house. That was the new home for my chickens.......

Here's my girl at the fair with Evangeline the speckled sussex. First place! There were LOTS of first place ribbons; way more than I expected. My 5-year-old didn't seem to notice. ;)

They told me Tuesday that they'd keep the birds fed and watered. Well today I saw that the "feed" looked like bird seed and cracked corn. I'm sure it's fine, but it's definitely NOT what Evangeline is used to eating. My 2-year-old gave her half a biscuit and I've never seen a happier chicken. :D

Well this worked for the summer..... Then when fall came, I could turn them all loose again. Before long they quit going into the chicken house except to eat. The would roost on the limbs of the maple tree. It is amazing to discover they had been snowed on during the night !! With help from my brothers we could get them herded back into the coop most nights.

One night, one of the young roosters managed to out smart us. I closed him out of the chicken house...... That night we had an awful ice storm. The next morning, when I went to feed the chickens, he flew down out of the tree to meet me. His tail feathers were a straggly mess of icicles that make clinking noises when he ran up the path to the chicken house. It was an amazing sound !

LOL Enola ! what a hard time you had and the wait was well worth it. icicles a chicken chime ! who could ask for more. hahaaa bet she was a sparkly little thing. their not the brightest are they? ever think about experimenting on them with some koolaid colors? thanks for the story

what a beautiful daughter she is. i love to see the children getting involved in the 4-h at such a young age. i dont trust other to feed my chickens and i dont like them to eat something they are not familiar with. first place is awesome, no matter the others

i am sweating myself to death, and freezing. whats up with that?my sheets are soaked , you could ring them out and then the other half of me not touching the sheets is just like sticking your hand in ice water. i am not fevered. if anything its a little low. nervous and trembling. what ever is doing this i want it to stop !! what ever it may be. was thinking prednisone maybe? i could stop it and see. , i could try different pain pills or antibiotic. it has to be one of them. has anyone gone through this before? did i tell you still no bath? gross !! monday i guess someone will be here. cant wait for a stranger to bath me. yeehaa !! what a life. i asked my husband to bring one of the brooders in and i would take care of the babies . he looked at me as if i had lost my mind. perhaps i have. i know you dont feed 2 babies a gallon of crushed starter at one time though. hahahahe made them a floor of food. he is getting very grumpy. I think he is tired of moving me from room to room and bringing me coffee in bed. I am not tired of it though. lol i do feel like a burden . they didnt want me to go to the nursing home though so what was i to do? today my son is 21 yrs. old. first b-day with no cake from me. or anything else for that matter. no gift , no money. i cant even get to the bank. enough ranting . it looks pretty outside. cant get this chair over the doorway to find out. i have never spent this much time in the house. if it was winter it wouldnt be bothering me as much. lol be glad someone else is doint the work, i think....
