Well, if it's in your lungs, don't inhale the salt water!

We had a mare with a terrible sinus infection. The vet drilled a hole in her face below her eye and we used a huge syringe of antiseptic rinse to squirt in the hole. All this nasty stuff would stream out her nostril. It took over a month to clear the infection.

Not exactly sure how this will make you feel better, but it has a really high yuck factor just for fun.
