I always had to line up help for math and mathy-science classes. I'm not a numbers brain. I would have really flourished at a hippy dippy school. I've only known one kid who came from a Montessori school and he was such an uncaring entitled brat of a man it turned me off of them. I like the idea of it, but not the one example of a result that I worked with.

Anyway, that was a weird little mini-rant. My eyes are barely open.

Watching Feivel Goes West with the kiddos! I cooked beans and sausage and sweet cornbread muffins. Bella goat went to her new home, and Jangles met his future mama. She loves him! She would love to have Beaux and Jangles both, but DH wants to keep Beaux.

But, Beaux and Jangles are clearly meant to stay together with names like that.......

well I am off to find a stick with which to poke this thread and see if it is still alive

I cant hang tonight. Hope everyone has a great night .

G'night Granny - hope you get some good rest!
I told him that if he doesn't understand it he needs to have meeting with his teacher. I feel bad for the kid. Straight a student but it doesn't come natural.. He works hard for it.
That's how a good parent handles it - if/when you can't help them you help them come up with alternatives! DD was/is my go-to math tutor for DS, even when she was away at school we'd text her a picture of the problem and then he they'd get on the phone and work through it together. If not for her we'd be looking to meet with the teacher or getting a tutor. The frustrating thing for me is I'm good at math, but the way they phrase things/do math these days makes it impossible for me to even figure out what they are asking the darn kid to do -- if I understand what they want you to do I can do it.

Small update - the "supervisor" from the post office called this afternoon. She drove by the house, verified that there is, in fact, a mail box right where I said it was and that we are in an area with walk-up delivery so we should "be fine" -- she released the hold and, in theory, we should start getting mail

I figured if nothing else I could turn the box into a lovely flower pot
