Aw, true love. Donut liked the other girls just fine, but coffee was very jealous. If he mated another hen, Coffee would race over and go after the hen. I even watched her knock him off of another hen! She was a little loopy. I warned the buyer about her, but he said he wasn't going to breed, he just liked small chickens.I know you hated to let them go. My roo has been with the same hen most of his life. I do let him out everyday to go play with the other girls but when it's time to roost, he marks sure that I have those girls locked up tight and walks over to him and his real lovers coop. I put him in with the others for a couple of nights but I could tell him nor his favorite hen was happy. I let him out first and he headed straight to the coop she was in. I sit and watched talk to each other for about ten minutes. Since then him and his hen have their on coop to themselves again.
