Oh he's adorable!

He is/was a sweet boy too. We don't have him any more because the hen he was raised with got extremely possessive and started attacking other hens and chicks. They had been raised as a pair so I didn't have the heart to split them up.

Coffee and Donut first day home

Week later we knew Donut was male.

They were never apart.

He did party tricks too!

Adult Donut with Penelope who was picked on by Coffee a lot.

Pics used for the craigslist ad. Guy who bought them said he wanted them as a pair. He didn't mind that Coffee was picking all the feathers off Donut's neck.

enola, you should tell us how you really feel.   :lau

One of my son in laws used to say that to me, a lot.

I just do not like the looks of freaky feathers! I don't mind if you guys like them, after all my favorite breed of chicken is the Araucana. A lot of people think they are ugly!

Ps there is another member of this thread that doesn't like them either. . . No names mentioned. . .

I know you hated to let them go. My roo has been with the same hen most of his life. I do let him out everyday to go play with the other girls but when it's time to roost, he marks sure that I have those girls locked up tight and walks over to him and his real lovers coop. I put him in with the others for a couple of nights but I could tell him nor his favorite hen was happy. I let him out first and he headed straight to the coop she was in. I sit and watched talk to each other for about ten minutes. Since then him and his hen have their on coop to themselves again.
