Just so you know, Corid isn't an antibiotic. It keeps the coccidia protozoa from absorbing thymine and they die. Wouldn't want you to use it for other problems. I don't think it will treat anything else except coccidiosis, but can be used in other animals.

I poured some in a bowl and smashed it into tiny pieces and got the smallest chick out. I dipped its beak in the juice and it decided this was worth eating. I pulled another chick out after the tiny one had a lot but the other chick just wanted to run off. I put them both back in the pen and poured the fish into their food dish. The Silkies came over to investigate but I left so the others would come check it out so I am not sure how the others might like it. The next time I go in there, if it is all gone, I will mash up some more for them.

Thank you so much for this idea!

oh, btw, I just found out my roo is from greenfire.

Hello all. I have a silly question. How can you tell or can you tell what color egg an easter egger will lay by its coloring of legs?? Think most of mine are laying pink/brown either that or not laying at all. Getting one beautiful sky-blue and an ugly dingy greenish color. Have 8 of these hens.

Be careful that granny with your foot cuz there is no sympathany if you have a relapse do to not listening to a doctor. No fudge either. Only threat I can make and carry out. LOL

Up to between 30 and 40 eggs a day. out of 33 pullets and 15 yearlings and 50 some 2 year olds. Little do the older ones realize that the chop is coming for about 30 of them.

Leg color is not related to blue eggs at all. Having a pea comb is the best indicator. It is more likely that a pullet carries the gene for blue shells since those genes are right next to the pea genes and they tend to get passed along together. (That's if your EE/OEs were created with Ameraucana or Araucana stock, if they're from Legbars, the pea combs have been bred out.) The green egg means she has the gene for blue shells and some genes for brown, which gets coated over the blue shells to make them green or olive. The sky-blue layer does not have genes for brown, so the blue shell is the same color inside and out. I think they can have either one or two copies of the blue gene, 2 copies making the blue more intense. EEs can take a while to start, so I'd give them some time. Heck, I'd even take the brown/pink layers as most of mine have slowed to near zero, egg-wise.

Reverse bribery with the fudge is an excellent tactic! You can tell granny is used to caring for others cause she doesn't think to care for herself. Everyone here is so good with reminding her. (Are you listening, granny?)
