that was a long trip just for chicken food. its in the van but i did it. + 2 bags of shavings.  my 10% off coupon expired yesterday . I asked if they would still honor it and they did.  so all together i saved a whopping $5.  We went to KFC to celebrate.  cost me $20.
very big headache now . might just nap.

I think everybody is napping. I took a 2 hr nap with gd. I have 9 eggs peeping since I woke up at 5am. Hope my husband remembers my 40W light bulbs while he is gone to pick up gs at school.

Thats why I had thought I would add 3 hours after fark each day. Will that work as well?

It is less stressful to the chickens if the light is turned on early in the morning. If the light goes off after it is dark, the chickens are left trying out how to roost with no light....

Agreed, how is the weather there today enola?

Wasn't sure they would hatch because I had a 104' temperature spike 12 hours after I put them in the incubator i replaced 6 with eggs i had on the counter and replaced others over the next 3 days. Hope i have a good hatch. There are 42 eggs in the incibator mostly black sex link and 9 green EE.

Good morning everyone!!

Enola, raining here too. For the past 3 or 4 days now it has been 45 degrees, foggy and drizzly. Just ugly out there. And it is supposed to stay like this until Saturday. Where is the sun?

i have the sun today..been washing walls in the coop scraping poop and all that yuky stuff..but i am glad it's done..i let the chickens stay out all day too they loved that..
