this is Spazz, my gay rooster. of course he dont look like that now. top all burned off, his wing feathers look like sticks. poor guy,he is such a sweet rooster. just walk up and pick him up, cuddle all you want, he loves it. very spoiled. he rather eat from my hand then the dish. he is starting to "come out" a little. wander around and pick at the straw. he will give the food up to any bantam that comes by and he is the biggest one in there. he needs some moxie.

i guess i lost my temper yesterday. i have two roosters in a pen that were not playing nice with my hens. a bantam mille flure and a big mixed breed. the mixed breed decided he wanted to "get happy" with the little one. he was screaming and running and the big one wouldnt stop. after he mated him about 6 times i lived up to my name.

Oh No!!

You didn't do it did you??? The Hatchet???

Well, fire up the BBQ and do some old time roastin' Granny. No rooster or any bird for that matter gets away with aggression in this yard. Off With Their Heads!!!!

yes i did and whats sad is the swap is Saturday. i didnt eat him either. i just couldnt take watching that poor little roo being treated like that. i didnt have any more space available for him. not that i was looking too hard.

today was national autism awareness day. i was very surprised by the people that wore the blue. had the puzzle pieces on display. it was a great gift to a mother that has been alone in this for 20 yrs. to see how others show their support and are learning from this is awesome. the next time you are at the grocery store in the 10 items or less isle with 12 items and a child walks up to you and tells you , you dont belong there. he is not being rude. he is following the rules. the only thing that makes sense in his life.

i thought i was going through the babies for the swap. i asked my mother to try and help me sex them. it took me a while to get her out there, she is a sick woman. but we got started. i would guess rooster, we would agree, band it, put it in the cage and she would go awww, i like this one and put it right back in the brooder. 3 times, i pulled out the same rooster. i managed to get a whopping 8 babies for sale with her. i will have to try again later when she is sleeping. hahaha BTW, i was checking combs. spurs, everything except the hackle feathers. lol i know better then that ! have to take her to dr. tomorrow so i am running out of time. i need to get busy in my run and it is standing in a couple inches of water. it has been raining non stop all night and day. talk about a stink !

poor things are getting as high as they can roost to stay out of it. gonna have to build them a boat in a min. they just dont want to stay in the coop, even the covered run is standing in water.

This rain was something else, that's for sure. What kind of babies are you taking to the swap?

hahaha, their not baby, babies. they can do without the light . they have for the past few days. mostly mixed bantams. a few big ones, mixed. i think the only full blooded ones i have are cochins, roos and a buff polish roo. oh, mill flure roo. a lot of hens but they are mixed and some i just cant tell. they are all too young. i have 2 hens w/ crossed beaks i am hoping to find a home for. they eat ok and drink too. i call them twist and twisted sister. all my bantams are tiny. i have picked out 25 so far. not a lot but i am bringing in 27 so i guess thats as close as i will get. the cochin are beautiful , i really dont want them to go. black and gold. a lot of gold. i hope they dont sell lol the twist are free to good home. both hens.

Say there Granny just what are you doing with a county road sign???? Also loved your pics but there are no labels/comments about each pic talking about the ones with chicks/chickens in them. I managed to figure out the coop pics all by myself. I am a big boy I am.
