Not sure if it was a prolapse or not. Looked like the whole area was just gone. sort of like a firecracker went off. Or maybe the other chickens had already gotten to her but the rest of her looked fine no gaping holes or pecks, eyes still there. Still no pups and she is "dying of the hungries" and she don't mean that nasty dried crap called dog food either. She fell asleep with her head resting on the opened door of the dishwasher today evidently hoping something would drip down that she could lick. Hard to catch/see if a hens is not quite right with over 80 of them running around. Some of my easter eggers are laying large eggs already. Not sure about the lorps or wyandotts. Byc seems to be working at the moment I truly think it has something to do with the video ads on the sides of this site. Lu sent into the welping/puppy box this evening and the came waddleing out asap with a terrified look on her face , thinking the expression is something like Granny's when she goes in the kitchen.

Did get 24 dozen butter cookies done today. Had company this evening. Good night all sweet dreams

My eggs, I havent spoke of them because i had no hope . and i was correct . they did as they do. My lf eggs that i put with them, most were not fertile, 3 were and out of 4 seramas and 3 LF I am going to possibly end up with one LF chick . one has way too big an air sac, one i cant see so maybe and one has a tiny pip this morning. NOW, my husband wants to buy me a new turner .

she is broody and the big ones are mostly infertile. I am having such good luck gee, i should go waste some more money on it. she being the serama. be nice if someone would fix me a grow out pen for the ones i have.

Twist, dont overfeed Lu, it makes for a harder birth. and yes, i am talking from experience. Wishing,

I am reading on the serama site . everyone is hatching or broody. do you have eggs under yours? I have narrowed it done to, its not my fault. LOL I am going to pick up a scale today if i know what to get and see if my tiny hen may be laying too tiny of an egg. is it supposed to measure grams?

Morning Granny, sorry to hear about your Seramas eggs. How long have you been trying to get a good hatch on those? I woke up early this morning to snow, it took me 2 1/2 hours to clean coop, shovel & snowblow the driveway.
I know I shouldn't complain, normally we have lots of snow by now, was just sorta getting used to the idea of a white Christmas this year lol. Hope you find your scale. I ordered a small one last year from a buy it now auction on Ebay. It was very inexpensive. It came with a egg weight chart for determining your egg size and the individual included 2 different size pvc rings for balancing your egg on while weighing it. But I use it to weigh my eggs before I put them in the incubator. When I candle on day 10 I weigh them again to make sure they are loosing the weight they need to before hatch.
It does weigh in grams as well

Your Serama hatching luck and my Legbar hatching luck sound about the same. I sat EVERY single legbar egg i got last summer. My large fowl eggs that i set with them hatched. But not a single Legbar chick. They were fertile, but all died at some stage of developement. I even had chicks make it to lock down and then never pip. I mentioned what was happening on a Legbar site and guess what? There are MANY people that are having problems with Legbar hatching!!! I am about to give up on this breed. I am going to try one more rooster, but if their eggs don't start hatching, i am done with this breed.

No, not setting eggs here. We have a small rural property with lots of neighbors, one of whom is allergic to crowing, so I sold my rooster and all the little cockerels except for one. He is very small, has silkied feathers, and he doesn't seem to be getting the job done, if ya know what I mean. Chose to keep this one because he crows very little compared to the others. He has a decent chest but holds his tail down. Looks kind of like a miniature Phoenix! Very cute, but not good type and not fertilizing anything anyway. I told my husband that if we didn't have neighbors, I would breed and hatch all kinds of Seramas, 100s of them. He was half horrified and half sad for me.

very nice scale there chickenlady, Enola, it wont be the rooster if they are making it half way like mine. its like being a little bit pregnant . you either are or your not. LOL Wishing, send me them mamas . this roo i have will get em right ! he is mating that poor hen while she is sitting eggs and she will do a half shake when he is done without moving off the eggs ! now that impresses me. Any one ready for my day ? too bad, gonna tell it any way. And all in all it was a good day. hahaa went to lowes to find tom a shelf/storage for his room and i needed the length of his dresser. Now how i measure is a little different. I went and asked a sales person if they had a tape and told them to hold the tape. i took the end and stuck it in my arm pit and stretched my arm out and told him to add 2 inches. without skipping a beat he told me what it was. i told tom and tom didnt hear me. so that guy is long gone . I go find another person and did the same thing again. this one is amused. he is following me around the store trying to figure out what i am up to i guess. how would i know? good thing he did because by the time i got back to the shelves i had forgot again. he probably never will. I got out of there and went to big boys and took a nap. my sugar bottomed out i guess. that is so embarrassing when you come to and there are all those people staring at you and the waitress asks you like 10 times if your ok. Now the reason i say it was a good day was of course after we left there. we went to wally world and tom bought me 5 new t shirts for 3 bucks a pc. nice colorful ones. then he bought me a meet thermometer, then a digital scale. we left there and he went to TSC and bought me a new egg turner !! i racked up. I got home to find 2 eggs piped. I have no idea what they are though. I am going to have to do some heavy searching to find out what those serama eggs should weigh again but hopefully i will write it down. BTW, those eggs that have piped are on day 19 and they are large to jumbo. heat too high? 3 thermometers lying to me?

umm, I dont remember. LOL I do have a different measurement I am hoping someone can help me with. the 3 seramas eggs i have left in the bator. i put them in on the 7th.ya, day 10 so probably not dead yet. I only weighed one and it was 19 grams. I dont remember the suggested weight of them to hatch but it was at least in the 20s.

baby one is here. black alstrop/swedish flower roo . It is a very big chick. second egg is zipping. I think this may be all i get but i cant see the 3rd one.
