Twist, dont overfeed Lu, it makes for a harder birth. and yes, i am talking from experience. Wishing, :duc  I am reading on the serama site . everyone is hatching or broody. do you have eggs under yours?  I have narrowed it done to, its not my fault. LOL I am going to pick up a scale today if i know what to get and see if my tiny hen may be laying too tiny of an egg.  is it supposed to measure grams?

Wish I lived close granny, I would help you with a grow out pen.

thank you chickenlady, I would take you up on that . I keep saying i am over thinking this so today it occurred to me that my guineas are gone. ya, I have a 12x14 barn with nothing in it except storage for some cages. No electric though. I think i can run an extension cord to it, maybe 2 heat lamps and turn them loose in there. wonder if they would know enough to go to the heat in such a large area?

Haha, your rooster needs some more girlfriends, granny! My little cockerel was the absolute bottom of the pecking order. Even the pullets were larger. Now that he's the only male, it's taking him time to get in the swing of things. He's only 6 months, so maybe he'll be bolder when he gets older.

How many eggs is your little hen setting on? She sounds like a good mutitasker, taking care of eggs and rooster! Gonna make a good mama. If she can't hatch the eggs, then I bet they are too small. Maybe they'll be larger in the spring or try upping their protein just a bit. Have you asked about available Seramas on your Indiana thread? All those people, maybe someone can give you a lead.

If their butts got cold enough they would, haha.

she is sitting on 2 large fowl eggs ! one under each wing. hahaaaa closest seramas are 2 hrs. drive and cost more then i am willing to pay. cheapest starts at 50 . after what i read about that other serama roo and the way this one is acting i am half afraid to stick my hand in there. I would kill it.

The males I've had have been real sweethearts. Calm down as soon as you pick them up. The cockerels did a test bite or 2, mostly out of fear, but we held them anyway. They can't really hurt, so it's easy to not react and then you become the dominant one. Few of my hens and pullets are pretty bitey though. That would DQ them at a show. They just need to be handled, preferably while eating treats.
