3rd chick is here. last one. i had to hatch it . turned wrong . it had 3 strands of umbilical attached ? any way it is fine . all 3 look the same. they are feisty. i have received a complement on my avatar already . I have to go to the dr. today BOOO LOL at least every thing is done except i still have the last chick in the bator. i want to wait til i get home to move it. I have a feeling my swedish roo played no part in this but the phoenix snuck in there. kind of hard to imagine , he is bantam

Hope your Dr. Appr. Goes well Granny. So glad to hear that all three hatched. I have never helped one before, but upon candling last night I've got 2 shipped eggs that have huge saddle shaped aircells. Don't even know if they will make it to lockdown on the 23rd.

what kind of eggs chickenlady? this has been a long day. drs. appt. went ok my son and myself have a couple med changes he had blood draw not me. hehee it was the umm, butt dr.? I forgot .Big shortage on my sons meds. he got lucky and got 60 of the last 100 they had. all the other pharmacy's dont have any. dr. found it at krogers. I have the bator cleaned out and the new turner in. if my legs get better i will candle the eggs and if they are still alive i am going to swap them over. hope everyones day went well.

In incubator #1, some of my barnyard mixes, some Heritage Rhode Island Reds (shipped 6/8 still good) & some Cinnamon Sex Links (down to 3 of those from 13, shipped eggs). In incubator #2 I have some shipped Golden Comets, some barnyard mixes & I use to have 9 bantam & silkie eggs (shipped that never made it)

I think a will try some eye candy after the weather gets warm this coming spring. I am hoping my Buff Orphington will go broody and she can be the incubator. My granddaughter has been wanting some silkies so will try to get some local hatching eggs of those. She doesn't know yet that the silkie eggs I ordered for her didn't make it.

chicken lady, if you are waiting for day 23 on chicken eggs you are waiting too long. day 18 is lock down. hatch anywhere from day 18-26 but the correct day for hatch is 21. mine hatched on day 18-19 tells me my heat was a tiny bit high.

Hey Granny my day 18 for first batch of eggs is late evening of the 21st. I will be putting them in lockdown that evening of the 21st. As long as I have no external pips, I will put the eggs that are to go into lockdown on the evening of the 22nd in with them. If not in there in a 3rd incubator if needed. My eggs have always hatched around day 20 in the past.

Nope they all will probably hatch early, that been my experience in the past. I've got some REAL finelines for hatch dates. Could be hairy, lol.
