I make my own bread. Not that hard. You can add seeds or not. Yum.

LOL Wish I had the want to. I just eat food to survive these days.

We make sauerkraut in a 5 gallon crock. Just cabbage and salt. Pound with this big wooden thing my mom called a kraut stomper.

I'm not sure I can say this and make it come out right but here goes...Those "The little things that I do for people they all say thanks and I appreciate it. But there such little things that they could've done themselves" ARE really greatly appreciated by people. You may think they are small and they could do it themselves, but what comes easy to you to do doesn't  always come easy to other people. You are really helping them and you need to understand  that. You have value even though you have a hard time accepting that. I am single and live alone and can do a great many things myself, but when someone offers to help me out with even something I could do myself I really truly  appreciate it.
Thanks tippy. I appreciate that a lot.

shred cabbage salt it down in layers in a bucket Pack it very tightly put something in bucket to weight the FINELY shredded cabbage down cover with towel and set in a cool place. It will ferment by itself. take 4 to 6 weeks. keep an eye on it as it can go "off" then jar and water bath it.
So no fridge? Just on the counter? I love cabbage and sauerkraut.
