There's usually water here. Just not for the last 4 years. I am not in the high desert like Mutt is. It's more like two seasons, wet winters, no snow, and dry summers so we don't get the humidity. Apples and grapes grow well here. I've always wanted to live near a lake.

We get humidity off & on, but for the most part late 70's to early 80's for the hottest part of our summer. We are very blessed to have many beautiful lakes. It Gods country here. Google Sleep Bear Dunes, MI. That's not far from were I live. In fact the beautiful picture of the water & sunset is a picture that was taken by my nephew out on the dunes.

So your motel is a big tourist destination?  Big spa and indoor olympic sized pool?  Cross country skiing and dog sledding?

nope  just a CLEAN plain jane  courtyard style motel.   Oldest motel in Dickinson  the Theorodore Roosevelt national park is about 1/2 hour away and Medora.   Summer is usually busy and then October with pheasant season.    But we were on the outskirts of the OIL BOOM for the past 4 years.    We now have  twice as many motel rooms as we did in 2010.  Why city wouldn't let them build a 4000 bed modular man camp on the outskirts of town.  Which could have been dismantled and moved when the boom went belly up.

Good, then I can stay there some day.  Don't like hobnobbing with the snooty types.  Roosevelt NP.  Bison country?

yes and wild horses  and elk and big horn sheep  all in the park
almost went on a road trip with my mom a couple of years ago out your way twist, but plans changed & I wasn't able to go.
