Don't be embarrassed! I think it's great.

Here's a picture of me with my rooster. Now we're even.

you are beautiful. thank you

Granny, your picture is wonderful! I see a very happy lady with 4 adorable and very happy boys. The little one behind you has such an expression of love and joy on his face... Anyone who can inspire such a look is truly a beautiful person, and that means you.
oh wishing, thank you.

that is Konner he had the cancer took his kidney. he always was my best buddy. he went through chemo and radiation. he was a very sick boy. yesterday or maybe a couple days ago he celebrated 6 yrs. cancer free.

Granny, there is no way you can be more camera shy than me. In my entire life I think there are 3 pictures of me that I like. My son took a video of me feeding my new granddaughter. I was shocked when I saw how much I have aged.

Sounds like everyone had a good Christmas. We had my dad, sister, brother, mother in law and her husband over for dinner. That's it for all the close relatives in driving distance. Sure wish there were some little ones to enjoy around the tree, but it's just us oldsters and my two boys. I will be pretty old before I'm a gramma. My boys are 13 & 16. I tell them there's no hurry, and I hope they listen. I was going to make cioppino (type of fisherman's stew) for dinner, but the stores ran out of crab.

That's what I get for waiting until the day before to shop. Ended up having grilled lamb chops and scalloped potatoes instead, which was a huge hit. Everybody was stuffed.

The avian virus thing is scary. Hopefully it will run it's course and fade away. We had cases of it in California a few years back. You were supposed to send in any dead birds found, particularly in the crow family. Don't recall that it ever infected chickens, but there was a park pond full of waterfowl that had problems. We have all sorts of wild birds running and flapping around in the yard, and all my chickens are exposed. We built small runs with the expectation that they would be out all day. It would be torture to lock them up. Quality over quantity of life for my birds, I guess.

ohmy gosh, i love crab. never had lamb before though. Is it like pork chops? the bird flu scares me too . I dont really trust the higher ups to tell the truth or even know what they are talking about. they werent mine but i had children here and that was awesome

Thank goodness Konner is in remission, hopefully forever. You can see on his face that he thinks you are special too. So you ever write letters and sends cards to your grandkids? My dad just handed me a huge box of all the letters and cards that my gran & gramps saved, which were made and sent by me and my bro and sis. Christmas night, we looked through the box and kept our own things. Gran had saved everything! Stuff from the early sixties before I even started kindergarten! Amazing. Told you I was from a family of packrats. Anyway, send your grandkids stuff in the mail. If they don't send anything back now, they will someday. It was always so exciting to get a card or letter from Gramma, and we continued the exchanges up until she passed. Very good memories.

no, I havent but its a great thing i should be doing. I will give it a go. it will have to be to them all. I cant keep up with 6 of them.

Lamb is probably closer to beef or venison than pork. My mom always made leg of lamb for Easter, and it can be a little strong. I get lamb chops from Costco for special occasions. Much milder and less greasy than the leg. Think they are from New Zealand or Australia.

Got ingredients today to make fudge! I have never made it before, mostly because I do not trust myself to have such an awesome power- the power to make fudge. Because I will eat it, you know. But like many have said on here, I have had my ups and downs this Christmas holiday. Felt a little blue and couldn't get motivated to do much. Finally got the tree decorated a few days before Christmas. This felt like the shortest xmas ever because of that. I think the all powerful fudge will fix my mood (if not my hips!

) I will leave the tree up until after New Years, because it needs more time to be properly appreciated.
