Goodnight danna and granny.
SCORE! so pretty!
Nite Granny. Hope you get good sleep!
My new chicks are just at 3 mos old. I'm curious to see if my broody tried to adopt them? That's not much older than the SS chicks I think. I can't remember his old they are. 5-6 weeks by the feathers maybe?
Everybody is so quiet this evening
I was thinking about putting my small Brahma with my new chicks. She's very friendly. Bottom of the pecking order. How old do the chicks need to be before I try it?
It's been like that for me the past couple of days. Seems like when I'm on, no one's talking lol.
Camping's gone and done it!
What a great assortment you got. Can't wait to see pics of the RIR in the sun.
Sorry about Ben. I always take it personally and feel like a terrible parent when one of my animals does something like that. He'll get it eventually. I saw Cesar Millan (Dog Whisperer guy) do some avoidance work with a dog that wanted to eat small animals. Dog was leashed, in down position, and the critter held near the dog. Dog was supposed to turn away from the pet to get positive reinforcement. Might be worth trying your "leave it" command in a more controlled situation like that.
Glad you still have too many Sussex. It was probably a cockerel anyway, right?
I really needed another pair of hands tonight. Lesson learned.
I'm so excited to see them tomorrow! Chickens never look as good to me as when they're in my own yard.
