Long day children, soo much rain!! glad it wasnt snow. every thing is flooded including the coop. not the whole thing but the drain i put in the floor is backing into the wooden floor. never seen that before. cold air coming, sure hope it drains before it freezes. I am no good at ice skating. I worked on the swedish today for a while. I took the denaguard away , gave last shot i am going to give of tylan , antibiotic eye ointment , tube fed him egg cut with water and rooster booster. his vision is off. depth perception. he is pecking at air. no wonder he is so skinny. he also has the squirts, nasty butt. so tomorrow, no matter if he has had enough antibiotic or not i am going to start the probiotics and maybe more rooster booster unless i can find some nutra-drench. he has no meat on him. pitiful. tube feeding went pretty good though. wasnt sure what to feed him figured the egg was as good as any. new serama eggs are in the bator. 8 of them. turned the turner off. I will candle once to see if they are developing and thats it. I hope. haha

I also paid 6 dollars for one of them solar things people are sitting on the dash of their cars. most are flowers waving . mine is a chicken head swinging back and forth. cant wait til its fully charges. I am so far gone.

Lol granny, where did you find the chicken thingy? Our Tractor Supply store carries the Nutra-Drench. Sorry to hear about all the rain & flooding your having. Sure hope your roo gets to feeling better soon.

Big Lots has them. hahaa that rooster is so skinny . I gave him an egg mixed with water a rooster booster. ever smell that stuff ? it is like the poli-vi-sol. It is in my nose still. I think TSC has it here as well. If i dont get some weight on him he wont make it. the ilness itself is doing tons better. If it comes back at least he should have some food in him to help fight it.

My SS pullet was under 3 lbs when I started tubing her fluids every 3-4 hours. After about two days of that she was well enough to realize she was starving and she ate EVERYTHING. Hang in there!!

That's too bad, do you have a pet store near you? Maybe you could find some liquid nurishment for like a parrot or something that you could feed your roo. I just don't have any experience with tube feeding so I'm zero help in that department. Oh wait, what about stage 1 baby food, have you tried that? I know they are liquidy enough that you could draw it up in a syringe. Maybe add a drop of Nutra-Drench to it. Sure hope you can get him feeling better.

umm, every 2-3 hours ?? I did it once. was hoping that would be enough. I dont know what he weighs, i can do that tomorrow but i can tell you its all bone. He tries to eat but misses. I gave him a can of cat food today and he wanted it but couldnt eat it. I tried putting in the beak but it was too wet. he did drink a little of the juice. that should be something. what did you feed yours ?

We've had the worst rain today, too. Earlier in the week I took all the tin from my run so the sand could get some sunshine and dry out. BIG MISTAKE. All the feeders are flooded, inches of standing water everywhere. I put feed on the porch so they could stay dry and saw one of my layers with bloody vent feathers. I brought her in and realized she was basically oozing lice. Her whole bottom was just black with congealed blood. So I soaked her in warm water and lathered her with dish soap; I washed, rinsed, and drained the water three times. Then I got the blow dryer and fluffed her up, and the lice were STILL falling off. I feel like absolutely the worst chicken mom ever. :hit

I'm letting her stay in overnight, and in the morning I'm going to dust her good. The others are too wet, and I don't know what to do about them. :hit :hit :hit

campingshaws, you gonna get lice in the house. did u dust her? you cant control the weather no more then me. flooded is flooded. at least you have sand. and btw, lice like to live in that stuff. de is no good. get some sevin dust and go at em !
