Here are the new babies, I must say they were shipped very well & they look nice and healthy. No poopy butts, all 25 arrived alive & even ended up getting my pearl leghorns that I had wanted when I placed the order. They are eating & drinking on their own. Some went under the EcoGlow50 for some heat, but for the most part they are cycling in & out from under it. The ambient coop temp around them is about 65*

Awww.. Now we are all going to want some! Glad they arrived safe and sound. Company redeemed itself a bit, but tracking # should be provided without having to ask.

Good morning all. I'm so happy your chicks arrived safe and sound. Now I can't wait for mine to hatch. Wonder if I can speed up the process. Lol. I know I know, leave the broody alone. After seeing yours it's going to be extremely hard now. Lord please give me strength no to mess with my broody. All prayers are welcome. Oil can't hear good but maybe if I go put my ear close to her I may hear some peeps. Dangit it's still to early though.

Thank Camping it should be provided. I will let them know that communication skills could use a little improvement, including being notified when they ship & a tracking number provided. Barring anything crazy happening I am VERY impressed with the quality of the chicks. Hope they will all settle in well & get along ha ha. Black sexlink already attacking other chicks feet & legs.

So Red, didn't mean to go & do it too you lol. I was so bad the first time I incubated eggs. I was candling them almost every day after day 7. The amazing part was actually having 3 hatch out of the 7 I had set. It is a blast to watch them hatch for the first time, after the first it just stressed me out too much. I much prefer for momma hen to do it, she has lots better hatch rates & all I have to do is start checking for a egg shell on day 20. Easy peazy right? :lau

With the loss of one of my adult hens yesterday, that put me at forty. Today I have increased it by 25, but tomorrow I will decrease it by 6 silkies going to a new home. So that will leave me with 59 birds total. Oh wait, forgot I have a roo from my sister-in-law coming this weekend, that makes 60. What happened here, thought I was down sizing for winter??? :he :th
