    I hope yours will be calmer too. I had one BO that turned 18 months late summer that I had gotten as a hatchery bird. She was horrible mean to other birds & they're supposed to be nice. I rehomed her in Aug.

    I don't know Bert if it is dedication or if used for different purpose dd(dumb-dumb). I sure like to create a lot of work for myself :gig

    I love it, it is the best purchase I have ever made. Because it only heats when a chick is under it, it is more efficient & you don't have to worry about the heat lamps burning your coop down. The ambient air temp needs to be at least 50 degrees, but thats it, the EcoGlow does the rest. Chicks seem to be healthier because they aren't always cooking under a heat lamp. I have found that my chicks always acclimate to colder tempatures easier & that they feather out earlier. If you raise lots of chicks & can afford one (they are a little pricey) I would highly recommend getting one. I love mine.

    I have in the neighbor hood of about 25 birds.

    black aust, pullets and roos
    barred rocks pullets and roo
    buff hens
    RIR hens and rooster.

    I'm really trying not to go nuts lol. I did just walk by and look at her and kelp walking. Boy that's hard to do. I was wondering, when a mamma chick hatches them does she help with the egg shell or does she just let the chick do its thing?
