Any one ever lose a chicken ? How about in a sealed coop ?  I did.  its just gone. they were picked up and counted 3 times by myself and twice by someone else.  one is just gone. No mistake on how many went in. that was counted by seller, and myself , again one at a time. clean coop, no hiding places, no feathers, bones , ect... always chase them away from the door when leaving or coming in .

floor is plywood, off the ground. its one of them on runners. they deliver them and set them where you want . it was 4 grand and mom bought it because she felt sorry for the guinea . they were cold in the run with tarps for protection. they brought it in the winter too ! lol It has/had a loft. they were laying up there so i took the plywood down and left the 2x4s so they could perch but not lay. floor is clean, nest box clean, vents have plywood doors that latch. air vent on the very top is secure to the best of my knowledge.no light shining through. cant climb a ladder and baby chicken dont fly that high. actually they dont fly at all. two different latches on the door that only a human could open and too high for little ones to reach. I am 5'7'' and it is a reach for me. I have 3 of those buildings on my property and a pole barn. the smallest one is Uncle Toms cabin. I went all out on that one. insulated double walls ,floor and ceiling, electric run to it , painted, curtains, ect... My husband would use it for time alone. he is an old CB guy . One we had the amish build, (my son) and that is being used for storage of junk we will never need or use . also a loft but made much bigger . the pole barn is where every thing is happening. lawn mowers, chicken brooders, all the tools, worse building i have and used the most. gravel floor to hurt your feet, metal walls to freeze you, wires hanging every where. no room for the car.... you know, one of THOSE places. haha ok so its 6;30 and i have bored myself so early in the morn. why i went through all that i dont know but as much as i have in this post now i am not erasing so you guys took the time to read it you are probably just as bored as i am. sorry bout that. any way, good morning all

**Doing the happy dance here** It is all settled!!!!!! I am going to ND!!!! Mike will join me later...... I don't think he is nearly as thrilled as I am, but, he doesn't want us to be apart any longer than necessary.

A lot of decisions to be made about what I take with me, what I sell, what I give away and what I throw away.......

Granny if your sure about all those things and I would double check that vent in the top, it must of been human. Do you have a game cam? Could come in handy.
Enola congrats on moving! I hope you don't have a ton of stuff like me, I hate moving of course it's no rock left behind for me.

yes, I am sure of those things, no camera,dont matter. Congrats Enola, being by family is good ! what emotion comes after shocked, upset, mad, ? thats me right now. the little serama that I went to louisville and got was found dead in the cage this morning. fine last night other 2 seems fine. she said she took hers to the vet and got a diag. of brooder Phnu. I cant spell. I give up. no more trying with them . I still have 2 eggs in the incubator and they will or they wont , I dont care.
