What I read said to put one in on day 18, and put the other in on day 20, to keep the humidity up. I forgot and only put them in this morning, but I've taken them out now. Its hard to know who has the best method.

Humidity in the house is down to 50%, so I'm struggling to keep the bator at 65%. That's my goal. I've got water in the channels, and on a clean crocheted dish thing. It's thick but doesn't take up much room, made sense to me. I did mist the eggs earlier and quickly stuck a flashlight against them. I don't really know what I'm looking for. I need to google more. :/

ya, thats backwards, you dont put them in you take them out. one in til day 18 then it comes out too. they have to have that air . what you should see if the piped internal is dark in the air sac. its not a straight line any more like your last picture. sounds like all is well now and yes it is day 20.

I actually have some good news for a change ( and a few new gray hairs )  I am to meet my 18 month old grandson for the first time ever !   my household will increase by 8 for a few weeks. I am in desperate need of any calgon that you can possibly spare. asap. they are supposed to leave NC tomorrow and get here late in the day/night. Kristofer age 15, konner age 8, keller age 6, kayden age 5, Kegan age 3, and kolten 18 months. 

Oh holy shitaki mushrooms, your going to be a busy lady. I had my grandkids this weekend, 12 & 1. This grandma's pooped out. I will send you all the Calgon I can find in the store, lol. If all else fails if you get too overwelmed just crawl in your closet, pull a blanket over your head and pray for their bedtime. I'm praying for ya honey, lol.

its gonna be rough , haha I will last 2 days if i am lucky . I can take kids one at a time but 6 for a few weeks ? where will they sit, eat, ect... my bathroom is gone. I know that already. my daughter is in a bad flair with her crones . I will probably be looking for the corn cobs in the fields.

campingshaws, did you do your home work? wish you had got a picture. do you have hydrometer in the bator ? and if so, what is it reading. shoot Im as nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof. did you see any movement when you looked?

Ok. I candled again. One of the eggs (#7) had only a dime-sized air cell. (Not like that when it went into lockdown.) Then I noticed the crack. But it's oozing liquid?

So I took it out and candled really well; there was the tiny bubble on top, and then an equally tiny one on the side. I listened, nothing. Put it back, and the cell had shifted like this:

Hard to say, but maybe they're connected?

Ok, and in my big dumb move of the day, I had put the thermometer back on top of the eggs, and it was on top of this egg. So now I'm afraid it pipped and suffocated.

All the others look the same: big and flat. I'm worried they're too big.

except for oozing liquid its all ok, even the crack because its in the air cell. so the one with 2 air cells is actually what they should look like when they do the internal pip. it has broke through the air sac. the others with big air cells are ok too. they look like they almost take half the egg up. they have not piped internal yet. did the ooz have an odor?
