I'm kinda odd with traditions. I take some from my folks...take some from myself...borrow some from friends lol.

I didn't bother with much when I lived in Alberta....brought in the baked goods and decorated the cube.

My mom would do braided loaves every year for friends etc. I jumped on that bandwagon last year. Will continue that one...

hot chocolate and toast York ? he is a beautiful animal. I can see why you would walk through a storm to get to him.

is this where we are supposed to step in and make them or let it go ? Im not sure about you, I can only guess but what I am looking for is some appreciation. that they loved growing up with me. the traditions are just a way of them saying hey, this is how mom did it and it felt right so I want to do it too. Something like that Danna ?

i don't know Granny.after my dad passed my Christmas spirit left too.40 of us including grandkids and greats would go to their house on christmas eve.its a wonder the floors didn't fall thru in their little house..he sat in his recliner and passed gifts out to everyone.he made sure all had gifts.he loved it.i tried my best to have all the traditions at my house after that, but for me it will never be the same.and kids just want money now.

I didnt have many, they werent hard to follow, I thought every one enjoyed them. seems they only enjoy being waited on. they could care less about anything except food and gift and that is soo wrong.

Would like to drop them off at food bank or soup line for Christmas.
