Enola, thanks for the info. I looked up the iowa blue and it says they lay brown eggs ?   agree about all these "blue" eggs floating around . people color blind . 


You know why? I was talking about Arkansas Blues! See, that is why I don't usually post at 2:30 in the morning. So you might have an Arkansas Blue.........

Got a couple of pics while I was out today. The juvies keep kicking out their feed, then they won't eat it from the ground. So I had to do a little work on their pen. It was never really meant to be anything more than a tractor.

Love the colors on these boys. I'm hoping I can keep them long enough to give them each a couple of pullets.

Also saw my roo mount a pullet this morning. So if I can thin the flock a bit, I think I'll get eggs. Lots of folks on the LA thread are getting new layers and not adding light.

Are these so of your cross breeding with the ss roo???

No, these are the RIR/amerecauna chicks I picked up a month or so back. The RIRs are the heritage stock with 50-year lineage.
