Well they take it every hour to check your heart enzymes. Some idiot has me marked down as diabetic so I'm poked a couple times a day for that. I'm not. I questioned them and found out that's what heart patients get just for the low fat. They take blood to check for infection and I finally just stopped asking and held my arm out.

I have crappy veins so it takes several people a couple stabs and then fishing around to find it and get the needle in right. Did I mention that I'm on blood thinners? I bleed like crazy over the least thing.

my opinion is they are selling the extra blood to vampires. Or maybe they have a blood pudding side business going on. lol
