Does it look broken? Can you splint it?
Keeping him confined would be best to give it chance to rest and heal.
I didnt take a good look but not on the bottom half. If it is it will be up higher.
Red, I received you card today.. It was beautiful, who ever wrote in it has absolutely beautiful handwriting.. so unlike my chicken scratch!!!!

can chickens dislocate hips ???
Have you got a dog crate/cage you could keep him in? Just a small area should be enough to give it chance to heal. When Brenda came to mine from her dog attack she could not weight bare at all. Just kept her in the crate and then small coop untill she could get going. She didn't walk on the bad leg for weeks and just hopped about on the good leg or just sat down. Just kept her food and water close by and after a few weeks she was walking with a limp.
Confined rest should do him some good. Just might take time. He should be ok to just be sat down and then he can eat and drink as he wishes.
