What do you guys consider living off grid ?   No electric, running water ?  I grew up like that. I sure wouldnt want to go back..  doing home work by a lantern. no thanks.

My granny was borned in 1926 and folks would say "good ole days" she would say i dont remember them that way lol

Ohhh you don't want to know the cost for houses or rent around here. It would make your eyes bleed.

I make my own laundry soap.. Don't pay for cable but Internet... Gonna try and learn gardening next season. That's my idea of frugal living.. We always cook but maybe cheap pizza once a month... Kids are expensive.

we had a coal stove. the neighbors had a well they would let others draw from. Thats how the dishes were washed , we were washed, ect... It was just my mom and myself at that time. I would sneak off to the creek (crick) to bath when I could.

my out buildings and coops are on some solar,the panels are expensive, no if i have to use some thing like a bench grinder , or welder i have to turn on power but im told with the right number of panels i could go grid free but you have the expense at least 5 figures in my estimation

I would absolutely LOVE to have at least for my coops. I keep buying the little cheep lights my whole life and can see the improvements over the years . My land would be perfect for a wind turbine though.
