I just now lean towards making frugal choices and learning some self sufficiency living.

What do you guys consider living off grid ? No electric, running water ? I grew up like that. I sure wouldnt want to go back.. doing home work by a lantern. no thanks.

I love the thought, and truly think we could do it.  The problem, is that I think the initial cost is pretty expensive.  Way more expensive, than the way we live right now.

Just depends on how much.you intend to do without, electricity,running water,inside bath rooms, food stuffs,some stuff you cant do much with in a primative situations, but folks as little as 100 years ago did it. Just a thought .

The cost is high if you go solar.. And well. I can't do without water and power

when I was growing up, we had electricity and water, but no ac.

heat was with fireplace and a couple of dearborne heaters, oh and the kitchen stove.

I would just be happy once I get out of renting... If it ever happens.
