I don't remember the egg being too rounded. I'll have to go back and look. I think the yolk is absorbed, just the skin on the belly is thin. I poked it and that seemed to be the case, anyway. It's pretty sticky and hard to move, so I guess I won't know.

And it's hard to tell with it 2/3 gone. I have a couple of other pictures. I'll go back and add them to the other post so I don't have to put a new warning.

I went back to look again and we were both right. The belly is big and full of yolk, but there was still a yolk to absorb, about as big as two peas. It was under the foot. So there was probably not much I could have done.

Just the two chicks. 12 eggs left, two pipping. I thought my thermometer was a little off, but this is really off. :/

I've ordered the brinsea spot check. So no more problems (I hope).

Good afternoon all. Things seem to have calmed down around here. THANKGOD. This trying to cut back on smoking and all the stress around here lately is not a good combo. Weather has been very nice just afraid all this warm weather so quick (just no we are going to get wither around 0 temps or that dirty "S" word again) the trees and perianuals are gonna start doing something and then get frozen.

Sorry about the rotten hatch there camp.

The other rooster you were talking about granny I believe was the cream legbar. Also I think you hav eto cross the legbar with white egg laying hens to keep the blue eggs orther wise your gonna end up with olive or military green eggs. I have one easter egger that lays that color egg really really nasty looking color.

Don't feel too bad about the chick. I've read many opinions. Some think it's genetic so it really isn't something you want to continue on. Some chicks are just not strong enough to get out. I've never tagged any I've helped to see how long they live afterward. If they survive. Most do not but I'm always optimistic if I help them they might be okay.
